CS50x Puzzle Day is an online adaptation of an event hosted each year at Harvard, an opportunity to work as a team with classmates, family and friends on a puzzle (e.g. logic problem) pack.
How does it work?
Anytime after 12:00 AM on Friday, April 1, 2022, the team download a puzzle pack as PDF from https://cs50.ly/puzzles .
The team then has until the end of Monday, April 4, 2022 to solve as many puzzles as possible. The team submits responses online using a Google form at https://cs50.ly/submit .
The team can also take photos while working on the puzzles (or screenshots of the team collaborating online)! The CS50 team then shares them online if the team wants.
On Tuesday 5th April 2022 at 19:00 – 20:00 GMT+2, the CS50 team will host a zoom-based live walkthrough of the puzzle solutions. If you can't attend live, the team can watch on-demand afterwards.
CS50 certificates are awarded to the teams that answer the most questions correctly.
Puzzles require no prior programming experience, just logic and intelligence. All the team needs is a computer with internet access, a pen or pencil and scrap paper.
When will the event take place?
The event will take place every day from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. from Friday, April 1, 2022 to Monday, April 4, 2022.
Important Rules
Size 2, 3 or 4 teams are recommended, but larger teams of appropriate size can be formed. (Team will be announced when answers are submitted.)
Teams are not allowed to share clues or answers with other teams. Teams determined by CS50 staff to have shared clues or answers with other teams will be disqualified and not eligible for any certificates.
Teams MUST adhere to local COVID-19 protocols.
